Dr. Amanda Hartnack is an Oberärztin (Clinical Instructor) of Food Animal Surgery at the Vetsuisse-Fakultät at the University of Zürich. Dr. Hartnack is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons-Large Animal, and has spent the last 4.5 years doing clinical work and teaching in Zürich, which has a large and varied food animal caseload. Prior to moving to Zürich, Dr. Hartnack spent 6 years as an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. Her primary surgical interests include abdominal surgery and fracture fixation. Dr. Hartnack also enjoys doing clinical research, with the majority of her work to date focused on pain assessment and management. In her spare time, Dr. Hartnack enjoys skiing with her son Franklyn and hiking in the beautiful mountains of Switzerland.
